XLMS is a web-based school management system, easy to use and that automates day to day tasks for school administrations. It addresses the following problems encountered by most schools:

- Storing the information over the entire period of a student's five or seven year life
Pro-active Student Performance Management
This offers an early warning system to teachers and parents.
- By analyzing the mid-term results, it can detect drop in student performance compared to the last term or year, or compared to their peers
- This would allow parents and staff to offer advice and coaching to the student; thereby remedying the situation before it gets worse
Archive Management
It assists the storage of data on a term-by-term and on a year-by-year basis. This is backed up via electronic media.
Alumni Management
This module offers functionality to bind ex-students of the school to their Alma mater by offering functionality for them to communicate among themselves and with their school.
Statistics and Reports
This module offers extensive facilities to analyze the existing data and produce reports and statistics. It is also possible for some custom reports to be generated.

Minimum System Configuration and Usage Scenario
XLMS is designed to run on a single computer that would be shared by all users. This option is suitable for small educational institutions. In this case, we recommend that only staff members have access to the system.
Recommended System Configuration & Usage Scenario
Ideally, a school should have more than one computer. It should have different computers for the following group of users:

Advanced System Configuration and Usage Scenario
Advanced XLMS installations would include parents, students, alumni in addition to the above mentioned roles.
